Belarus' earned reputation in scientific and IT excellence complemented by its competitive labor market, which has attracted numerous IT–intensive companies. Over the last five years, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the Belarusian IT industry reached 30 %. In 2015, the total production and sales revenue of the Belarusian IT industry amounted to USD 1,120 million. In 2016, at a time when other economic sectors were experiencing export failures, the IT sector led the growth.

Providing special business environment for IT business, Belarus Hi-Tech Park is one of the leaders among innovative IT clusters in Central and Eastern Europe today. The attractiveness of HTP lies in a combination of the advanced technical education, innovative and highly qualified managers of IT companies, and the government support. During 2018 the combined sales of HTP grew by 40% every 6 months. For comparison, the total annual growth was 25% in 2017 when HTP made more than USD 1 billion in export revenues.
